Savouge is back on the Spikers’ Turf scene, hungry to scale the league’s summit and finally claim the championship that has eluded them. The Spin Doctors are rolling into the 2026 Open Conference louder and stronger than ever, with a roster overhaul that sends a clear message: they’re here to compete.
After two consecutive bronze finishes, the team’s goal is simple—get back on the podium and then go even further. And with the offseason acquisitions, Savouge has turned its lineup into one of the conference’s most formidable.
The team welcomed Alas Pilipinas outside spiker Louie Ramirez and four-time Best Middle Blocker JP Bugaoan, adding firepower to an already deep squad. Completing their Cignal haul—since the Super Spikers are on a leave of absence this conference—Savouge also secured KC Andrade. The reinforcements didn’t stop there: fiery opposite hitter Joeven dela Vega and setter Kim Dayandante were added to bolster the team’s championship ambitions.
“With the reinforcements na dumating sa Savouge, isa ‘yun sa nilu-look forward namin, ‘yung Finals, pero hindi yan madali eh, it’s a process so one game at a time muna kami and at the same time, kung makapasok na ng semis, saka kami mag aim for the championship,” said assistant coach Macky Cariño during the league’s press conference at Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Parañaque.
Savouge will also lean on its core of seasoned players—Mark Calado, Shawie Caritativo, and Hero Austria—as the Spin Doctors plot their ascent to the top.
“Syempre thankful sa mga nadagdag kasi sobrang laki ng impact nila na makatulong sa team namin. This coming Spikers’ Turf wala namang nagbago sa aura namin, always good vibes lang as Savouge, ipakita lang namin kung ano yung kaya naming gawin this season,” said Austria, the team captain.
The Spin Doctors open their campaign on Wednesday, February 25, at the Filoil Centre, facing the new 3B Event Masters at 5 p.m.
The sting of last year’s Invitational Conference, where they fell short of the podium against Cignal in the bronze medal match, remains fresh in their minds. But with Cignal on a leave, Savouge has set its sights on Criss Cross, the reigning champions of the most recent Invitationals.
“Syempre Criss Cross, team to beat ito eh so matibay talaga sila. Kami namang mga kalaban nila, hindi rin kami titigil na habulin sila. Sino ba namang teams ang ayaw manalo?” Cariño added, brimming with determination.
As the season kicks off, all eyes will be on Savouge, a team that has reinvented itself and is ready to turn its dreams of a first Spikers’ Turf championship into reality.
