Voting opens for Volleyball All-Star Showcase

The brightest names in Philippine volleyball are set to collide in a celebration of star power as standouts from the Premier Volleyball League and Spikers’ Turf take center stage in the Volleyball All-Star Showcase on May 1 at the Candon City Arena.

For the women’s showcase, the PVL All-Star Game will bring together the league’s finest as Team Heart and Team Hustle go head-to-head, assembling a constellation of stars from the country’s pioneering professional volleyball league.

On the men’s side, the spotlight shifts to the Spikers’ Turf All-Star Game, where Team Power and Team Passion will square off in a clash featuring the league’s top standouts.

Each squad will be composed of 14 players, with fans given the opportunity to help shape the starting lineups through a special voting process.

Supporters will vote for seven starters — two outside hitters, one opposite hitter, two middle blockers, one setter, and one libero — from a pool of candidates in the PVL and Spikers’ Turf based on statistical rankings and position.

The starting lineups will be determined by fans and coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own players. This ensures that both popularity and professional insight play a role in shaping the All-Star rosters.

Voting opened on Sunday, March 15 and will run until April 11.

The remaining seven reserve players will be selected through a comprehensive voting process involving head coaches, players, and team managers, along with the PVL Control Committee, referee and technical committee, broadcast panel and production staff, and the PVL and Press Corps.

Meanwhile, the head coaches will come from the top two teams after the preliminary rounds of the ongoing Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference and Spikers’ Turf Open Conference. The chosen head coaches will then appoint their assistant coaches.

The Volleyball All-Star Showcase will also follow special lineup rules designed to keep the action dynamic and inclusive.

All 14 players on each team must take the court. The fan-voted starters are required to play until the 16th point of the first set, while the reserves will start the second set. In the third set, the starters must play until the eighth point, after which coaches may freely substitute players, ensuring every All-Star gets a chance to shine while maintaining competitive balance.

The Volleyball All-Star Showcase will also feature several side events, including the Setter Challenge, Digging Challenge, and Serving Challenge, alongside the main games. Participants for these contests will be selected from the All-Star rosters.

The event will air on the Pilipinas Live app, One Sports, and One Sports+.
