Vince Lorenzo turns All-Star dream into reality in rare attacking stint

What was once a dream turned into reality for Vince Lorenzo last Friday.

The AEP-Cabstars defensive ace found himself in an unusual but unforgettable role during the 2026 Volleyball All-Star Showcase.

In the Spikers’ Turf All-Star Game, Lorenzo was thrust into rare attacking situations and even managed to score a point, marking a special moment for a defensive specialist more accustomed to keeping rallies alive than finishing them.

At one point, the libero was even seen lobbying from the sidelines, calling out to Team Power head coach Sydney Calderon and asking for a chance to attack.

The lighthearted moment escalated further when Lorenzo found himself in a playful “competition” with teammate Menard Guerrero. Both liberos were allowed to be on the floor at the same time under All-Star rules, and both were eager to take the same attacking opportunity.

“Parang ano na yun eh. Sa aming mga libero, parang fantasy na yun na makapalo,” said the three-time Spikers’ Turf Best Libero after helping Team Power secure a win over Team Passion at the Candon City Arena.

He also shared how meaningful it was to reconnect on the court with familiar faces such as Jude Garcia and Noel Kampton, among others, describing the All-Star setup as a reunion of sorts.
