Criss Cross sets out for a third consecutive victory as it clashes with winless RichMarc Sports 3B, while D'Navigators seeks to capitalize on its morale-boosting win in the 2024 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference at the Paco Arena in Manila on Sunday.
Ish Polvorosa hopes to replicate his impressive ball distribution from the King Crunchers’ straight-set triumph over the VNS-Nasty Griffins, where the seasoned playmaker orchestrated 19 excellent sets, involving nearly every player in their one-hour, 14-minute victory, marking their second straight win.
Despite their strong start and the Elite Spikers’ early struggles, Polvorosa and the King Crunchers remain cautious about their 6 p.m. encounter, emphasizing the importance of taking each game at it comes and maintaining focus throughout.
“We’re going to prepare for them and we’re taking this really one game at a time,” said Polvorosa. “We’re not looking at the end-goal pa although it’s there in hindsight pero dahil bagong team kami, hindi namin pwedeng i-take for granted yung journey namin. Isa isa lang hindi pwede ang nagmamadali kasi we will get there naman.”
Meanwhile, the Francis Saura-led D'Navigators takes on Savouge Aesthetics at 4 p.m.
The D’Navigators kicked off their campaign with a 25-23, 25-21, 17-25, 25-19 victory over Philippine Air Force side last Friday with Saura spearheading their attack with 21 points, including 16 kills and five blocks.
“Motivation lang ulit kahit mageensayo pa rin kami kahit isang araw lang ang pahinga pero more on motivation,” said D'Navigators head coach Boyet Delmoro.
