Cignal makes quick work of Army for win no. 6

Cignal quickly dumped skidding Philippine Army, 25-18, 25-20, 25-14, for its sixth win in a row in the 2023 Spikers' Turf Open Conference on Friday at Paco Arena.

The HD Spikers, who are yet to give up a single set this conference, continued to hold the top spot in the 11-team field with an immaculate 6-0 win-loss card.

"Sinasabi ko lang sa team na huwag magsasawa kasi ang hirap eh lalo nasa taas kami. There's no way to go up pa but to maintain our standing," shared Cignal head coach Dexter Clamor.

The HD Spikers raced to huge leads as early as the first technical timeout of all three sets and did a good job on preserving that cushion en route to the dominant win.

JP Bugaoan once again starred for Cignal with 13 points scattered through seven attacks, four blocks, and two aces, while Peter Torres added eight points.

No one reached double figures for Army which was bannered by Benjaylo Labide's nine points and Mark Enciso's eight.

The Troopers absorbed their fourth consecutive loss for a 2-5 record that's just good for eighth.
